OKLAHOMA CITY – The Midwestern State Mustangs begin postseason play on Friday at the Lone Star Conference Tennis Championships at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
Both the men and the women enter the tournament as the number two seed for first-year coach
Scott Linn, both behind top-seeded Abilene Christian.
The MSU Women (15-7, 6-2) open play against seventh seeded Incarnate Word in the quarterfinals at 9:30 a.m. The winner meets the winner of the third seeded Central Oklahoma and sixth seeded Tarleton State match at 2 p.m. in the semifinals Friday.
On the other side of the bracket, ACU faces eighth seeded Southeastern Oklahoma State and fourth seeded Cameron meets fifth seeded Northeastern State in the other 9:30 semifinals. Those winners will meet in semifinal action at 2 p.m. on Friday as well.
The Mustangs Men (14-5, 4-1) have a bye in the quarterfinals. They advance to the semifinals at 1 p.m. against the winner of Friday morning's match between No. 3 seed Cameron and No. 6 seed Southeastern Oklahoma State at 8 a.m.
No. 4 seed Incarnate Word takes on No. 5 seed East Central in quarterfinal play to see who advances to meet Abilene Christian in the other men's semifinal.
The championship games of both the men and women are Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.
