TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Filip Vacula and Bruno Sanchez, the No. 1 seed in the men's doubles draw at the ITA DII Individual Championships, advanced to the quarterfinal with a straight-set victory on Thursday. Sanchez also moved through to the quarterfinals in singles at Tuscaloosa Tennis Center.

Vacula and Sanchez breezed past Radu Florea and Jakub Hrasek with a 6-3, 6-0 victory in the round of 16. Vacula/Sanchez now face Kevin Kovacs and Luke Laughlin of Lincoln Memorial, who dispatched the sixth-seeded pairing of Andy Brisdon and Ivan Melnik of Nebraska-Kearney, 6-1, 6-4.

Sanchez posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Yuto Miyagawa of Washburn in the men's singles, and he faces Lucas Prather of Rollins College in the quarterfinals. Prather defeated No. 5-seed Samuel Antwi of UT Tyler in the first round, 7-6 (2), 6-4, and got past Nils Pottbecker of Charleston in the second round, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Sanchez plays his quarterfinal singles match on Friday morning at 11 a.m. and joins Vacula for the doubles match at 4 p.m.
