Northeastern State (9-12) has lost five of its last six games heading into its Lone Star Conference North Division opening series against Midwestern State.
The RiverHawks, a future member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association, has played a heavy dose of teams from its future league. NSU is 5-9 against MIAA members thus far this season.
This will be just the second game for Northeastern State against Lone Star Conference competition this season as the RiverHawks took a 4-1 loss to current No. 1 Angelo State last month.

The sophomore infielder is hitting .359 with four doubles and eight RBIs, while senior outfielder Jessica White leads NSU with two homers while driving in nine runs with a .328 batting average.
Northeastern State is hitting .271 as a team while scoring 4.3 runs per game.
The RiverHawks are led in the circle by sophomore Cayce Coleman, who is 5-4 with a 2.76 ERA while striking out 51 and walking 21 in 66 innings.
Junior Sarah Massey is 3-4 with a 4.96 ERA. She has notched 23 strikeouts and 23 walks in 48 innings this season.
