ADA, Okla. - Midwestern State committed 29 attack errors and struggled ot a .117 team hitting percentage to fall to previously winless East Central 24-26, 20-25, 25-16, 27-29 Saturday afternoon at Kerr Center.
The Mustangs, who had committed just seven errors in a 3-0 win earlier this week at Southeastern Oklahoma, came out hot hitting .324 in the opening set but failed to close out the Tigers.
East Central used a stellar back line effort by Megan Kimak, who finished with a match-high 31 digs, to keep rallies alive as the Tigers limited MSU to nine kills in 34 total attacks to take the second set.
The Mustangs came alive defensively to take the third set 25-16 as they finished the match with 11 total blocks before falling in a tight fourth set.

Shelbi Stewart led the way with 13 kills while committing just three errors in 34 attack for a .294 attack percentage, while senior right-side
Karolina Damjanovic contributed 11 kills, eight digs and six blocks.

Midwestern State (6-5, 1-1) plays host to Dallas Baptist Tuesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
East Central moved to 1-11 and 1-1.
