Midwestern State and Angelo State tangle in the best-of-3 South Central Super Regional Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Park.
The Rambelles (47-12) own a 1-0 edge in the series after claiming a 9-3 victory in Game 1 Friday night as the Mustangs slipped to 53-9.
First pitch for Game 2 is set for 1 p.m., while the if necessary game would follow at 3:30 at Mustangs Park.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Angelo State evened the season series with the Mustangs 3-3 with Friday's 9-3 win in Game No. 1 of the NCAA Division II South Central Super Regionals. The Rambelles won a 13-9 advantage in the all-time series which dates back to 2004.

Megan Chartier in the second inning Friday night. It was the 48th time this season the Mustangs scored first in contest and it was just the third time this season MSU lost a game in which it led first. Midwestern is now 45-3 in contests that it scores first.
PETERSEN SETS LSC STRIKEOUT MARK: Midwestern State senior pitcher
Katie Petersen became the Lone Star Conference all-time leader in strikeouts when she fanned Angelo State's Sarah DeMoss for the second out of the third inning Friday night. It was Petersen's 870th career K to pass Southeastern Oklahoma's Christina Cearley, who had 869 strikeouts from 2003-06.
DUFF EXTENDS HITTING STREAK: Midwestern State sophomore
Nicki Duff extended her season-best hitting streak to 11 games with a one-out single up the middle in the fifth inning Friday night. Duff is hitting .364 (12-for-33) during the streak which dates back to April 24th's second game against Northeastern State.
POTYSMAN GOES DEEP: Midwestern State junior
Amanda Potysman slugged her second homer of the season when hit a pitch-hit, two-run bomb Friday night in the seventh inning Friday night at Mustangs Park. Potysman his hitting .500 (3-for-6) with a homer and three RBIs since returning from missing 27 games with an arm injury to begin the Lone Star Conference Championships.
REYNOLDS' HITTING STREAK SNAPPED: Midwestern State junior
Alyson Reynolds reached on two of her three plate appearances and officially carried an 0-for-1 line with a sacrifice bunt Friday night against Angelo State. Reynolds hit .476 (10-for-21) with three doubles, two homers and 10 RBIs in a seven-game streak during the postseason.
CRAIG CLOSING IN ON RBI RECORD: Midwestern State senior catcher
Lauren Craig boasts a .409 (9-for-22) with a double, a homer and eight RBIs during the Mustangs eight-game postseason run and needs two RBIs to reach season goal of 50 RBIs. That would also match the MSU single-season record for run production as former standout third baseman Kristen Stonecipher notched 50 RBIs in 2007.
TANNER ON A ROLL: Midwestern State junior pitcher
Brittney Tanner extended her personal winning streak to 11-straight decisions with a one-hit shutout of West Texas A&M on May 16 last weekend at the NCAA II South Central Regional No. 1. Tanner is 11-0 over her 12 starts dating back to April 3 as she has limited the opposition to 13 earned runs on 50 hits in 80 2/3 innings and opponents have managed just a .171 average against the right-hander. Tanner has tallied 94 strikeouts during the run and issued 16 walks.

Brittney Tanner owns a 2-0 mark while allowing two earned runs and seven hits in 11 innings this season against Angelo State good for a 1.27 ERA. She has fanned 14 and walked one while holding the Rambelles to a .184 team batting average.
