DURANT, Okla. - No. 7 Midwestern State opens the 2010 Lone Star Conference Crossover tournament Friday afternoon at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex against a pair of nationally ranked teams.
The Mustangs (24-4) take on No. 2 Angelo State at Field No. 5 at 1 p.m., then plays No. 22 West Texas A&M at 3.
Angelo State (26-2) rides a 15-game winning streak into today's contest with the Rambelles last loss coming 5-3 to Emporia State on Feb. 20 at the CBS Insurance Classic in Abilene.
ASU boasts a trio of hitters batting .400 or better including junior second baseman Alix Dean (.435, 13 doubles, 22 RBI), senior outfielder Sarah Demoss (.415, 25 stolen bases) and junior catcher
Kaycee Taylor (.413, 7 doubles, 24 RBI).
Senior pitchers Chelsea Nelson (12-1, 1.58 ERA) and April Haywood (10-1, 2.88 ERA) pace the Rambelles in the circle.

West Texas A&M (22-10) come into the LSC Crossover have won five of its last nine.
The Lady Buffs, who have thumped 26 home runs in 32 games this season, are led offensively by sophomore Sarah Blair (.386, 8 home runs, 34 RBI) and sophomore outfield Kimberly LeComte (.363, 8 doubles, 8 home runs, 30 RBIs).
West Texas A&M has struggled in the circle with a team ERA of 3.31 ERA paced by sophomore Marci Womack (6-5, 3.54 ERA) and Blair (8-3, 3.64 ERA).
Midwestern State has lost just once in its last 17 games and the Mustangs have notched wins in 21 of its last 23 after starting the season by going 3-2 at the St. Mary's NCAA II Classic in San Antonio.
The Mustangs, who hit .332 as a team, boast eight batters with at least 50 at bats over carrying at least a .299 batting average.
