WEATHERFORD, Okla. - No. 8 Midwestern State continued on its recent rampage and extended its program-best winning streak to 13 games as the Mustangs took a doubleheader sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday aftenroon at the SWOSU Softball Field.

Lauren Craig drove in
Courtney Bingham in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Mustangs to a 3-2 victory in Game 1 to make a winner of senior starter
Katie Petersen, who improved to 9-2 on the season.
Petersen allowed two runs on five hits and had seven strikeouts in eight innings of work.
Bingham and Craig paced MSU's seven-hit attack with a pair of hits each.
The Mustangs managed just six hits off of Southwestern starter Cassie Chambless in the second game, but made them count.
MSU struck for a pair of runs in the top of the second as starting pitcher
Brittney Tanner's single up the middle plated Craig, who had reached on a one-out single. Tanner would come around to score on a
Nicki Duff triple to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead.
Southwestern would tie the game at 2-2 in the third inning on Kristina Davis' run-scoring single, but the Mustangs put away the in the fourth.
Senior second baseman
Alyson Reynolds reached on a single and Tanner was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Both would come plateward on McKenzie Sicker's fifth double of the season to give the Mustangs a 4-2 lead.
Tanner improved to 7-2 after allowing three runs on four hits in four innings of work. The Burkburnett product had seven strikeouts, while junior
Kristina Gutierrez picked up her first save of the season by permitting just two hits to go with two strikeouts over the final three innings.
Tanner and Sickler each had two hits to pace MSU's nine-hit attack in Game No. 2.
Midwestern State takes on Central Oklahoma Monday afternoon in Edmond. First pitch for the twin bill is set for 1 p.m.
