PLANO, Texas - Midwestern State split a pair of matches at the Colin County Community College Tournament last Saturday.
The Mustangs rolled to a 9-0 win over Newman (Kan.) by taking straight-set wins at each of the singles' positions Saturday morning before falling to Incarnate Word later in the afternoon.
The Cardinals swept doubles' play before Francisco Segura took a 6-4, 6-1 win over MSU's
Bo Zaputovic at No. 1 singles to give UIW a 4-0 lead.
The teams swapped default victories with Midwestern's
Vjekoslav Stipanic giving way to Maxime Moreau at No. 3 for the match winner, while UIW's David Ballenger defaulted to
Octavian Dinuta after falling behind 6-1, 3-0.
Midwestern State, now 6-5 on the season, competes in the Cameron Quad Saturday in Lawton.
