PHOENIX - Midwestern State closed an impressive weekend in the President's Day Tournament host by Grand Canyon University at the Peseo Racquet Club by taking five of six matches.
The Mustangs improved to 5-4 on the season.

The Mustangs swept through doubles play, and then dropped just four games in Nos. 2-6 singles to breeze to an easy victory Thursday over Montana State-Billings.
Bozo Zaputovic survived MSUB's Navin Marimuthu 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to preserve the sweep.

Midwestern's Bozo Zaputovic and
Carlos Bataller held of Patrice Giraldi and Will Herbert in a 7-3 tiebreaker to give the Mustangs a 2-1 advantage coming out of doubles play Friday at the Paseo Racquet Club, then the Mustangs rolled to straight-set wins in four singles matches to take their second-straight win.

Chad Meeks battled Grand Canyon's Sebastian Guevara to split sets at 6-3, 4-6 before rallying to take the super tiebreaker 10-6 at No. 6.

Luke Joyce eked out a 10-6 tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles to score a 9-8 victory over Sonoma State's Quan Vu and Andrew Khuri-Yakub to provide the difference in a 5-4 win Saturday at the Paseo Racquet club.
The Mustangs overcame a 2-1 deficit coming out of doubles to claim straight-set victories at the Nos. 2-5 singles positions as MSU improved to 3-3 on the season.

Midwestern State continued its strong singles' play to rout Hawaii-Hilo 7-2 Saturday at the Paseo Racquet Club.

California-San Diego took advantage of Midwestern State's mishaps to take a 6-3 win Sunday at the Paseo Racquet Club.

Daniel McMullen lost a tight one to Vincent Nguyen 3-6, 6-4 and fell in the tiebreaker 10-8.
Midwestern State 5, Cal Poly Pomona 4
Midwestern State roared back for a 5-4 win Sunday afternoon at the Paseo Racquet Club despite falling behind Cal Poly Pomona 3-0 in doubles play.
MSU routed the Broncos 5-1 in singles as Cal Poly needed to take both tiebreakers in the final matches to come off the court.
CPP's Robby Dabbs worked for a 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 win over Bozo Zaputovic at No. 1 singles, but MSU's
Chad Meeks ended the Broncos' hopes by taking a 2-6, 7-6 10-5 win at the No. 6 position.
