Hagan leads Mustangs past Southwestern Christian, 78-67

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Chris Hagan poured in a game-high 18 points and dished out 10 assists to lead No. 20 Midwestern State to a 78-67 win over Southwestern Christian Tuesday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The hot-shooting Mustangs overcame a sluggish start and a 10-point deficit in the games opening four minutes to shoot 57.4 percent for the game.

The Mustangs rallied to tie the game with a 16-6 run of their own and reclaimed the lead for good on a Keonte' Logan 3-pointer with 6:44 to surge ahead 23-20.

Midwestern State extended a 10-point halftime advantage to a 45-27 advantage by scoring the first eight points of the second half and would lead by as many as 22 when Hagan converted a fast-break layup to extend the lead to 74-52 with 4:55 to play.

Charlie Logan converted six dunks on his way to 14 points and added four rebounds and two blocked shots while junior guard MIchael Loyd adde 12 points and four assists.

Junior forward Darrick Thomas scored 12 points and snagged seven rebounds off of the bench.

Josh Gamblin tallied 16 points to pace Southwestern Christian while Riemond Prince had 12 points, six rebounds and four assists but turned the ball over 10 times.

Midwestern State (2-1) takes on Northern New Mexico Tuesday night in Plainview, Texas before returning to Ligon Coliseum to open LSC crossover play against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Nov. 30.

Southwestern Christian fell to 1-2.
