LUBBOCK, Texas - NAIA power Lubbock Christian used a dominant performance from Elissa Loynes to sweep past Midwestern State 25-19, 25-23, 25-11 Monday night at Rip Griffin Center.
The 5-11 senior middle blocker logged a match-high 16 kills and committed just one error in 28 attempts to pace the Chaps to a .308 team hitting percentage.
The Mustangs dropped their fourth consecutive match to fall to 10-11 on the season, while Lubbock Christian improved to 9-1 against NCAA Division II squads this season as the Chaps are currently ranked 19th nationally.
MSU charged out of the blocks in the second set as its lead bulged to 16-10 on a
Caitlin Wallace kill before the Chaps rallied with an 8-2 run to knot the match at 18-18.
The Mustangs regained the lead at 23-22 on a service error before Loynes notched kills on two of the final three points and assisted on the other to give the Chaps a commanding 2-0 lead.
Lubbock Christian closed out the match on high note committing just one error while putting down 16 kills in the third and final set to improve to 19-6 on the season.

Karolina Damjanovic led the MSU attack with eight kills, while Wallace finished with six kills and two total blocks.

Miranda Byrd notched 10 digs.
Midwestern State returns to Lone Star Conference play Thursday night at Texas A&M-Commerce before taking on Texas Woman's Saturday in Denton.
