"We're glad to be back in a rhythm," MSU coach Venera Flores-Stafford said. "It was good to see them push through and give a great effort tonight."

MSU forced the Lions into 32 miscues and a .047 team hitting percentage with junior Kiara Jordan leading the way with 17 digs, but she had plenty of help.

Sophomore Taylor Parker and Mallory Goon came off the bench to tally 11 and six digs each while setter Taryn Westerman also had 11.

"The right-side defense stepped it up really well," Flores-Stafford said. "Taylor was in good position and reading the ball really well."

Sophomore outside hitter Shelbi Stewart delivered third 10-kill performance in the last four matches with her most efficient outing of the season.

"I've been trying to be more aggressive," she said. "Our middles have been holding their blocks really well and giving me bigger gaps."

The Pflugerville native finished with a match-high 13 kills and made one miscue in 20 attempts for a .600 attack percentage.

Junior Miranda Byrd finished with eight kills and five total blocks in her return to the middle, while junior Hillary White added seven kills and eight digs and senior Karolina Damjanovic notched seven kills and five digs.

Westerman completed third double-double of the season with 34 set assists to pace a .203 hitting night for MSU.

Rachel Robertson paced Texas A&M-Commerce with 13 kills, while Noami Mays led back row efforts with 15 digs.
