LUBBOCK, Texas - Midwestern State hit a season low .033 as the Mustangs fell 3-0 to No. 21 Lubbock Christian Tuesday night at the Rip Griffin Center.
The Mustangs, who lost for the eighth time in nine tries away from confines of D.L. Ligon Coliseum, fell to 3-13 on the season.
MSU returns to Lone Star Conference play with a pair of home matches this week beginning with Southeastern Oklahoma State (12-4, 2-0) Thursday at 7 p.m. before facing off with East Central (11-6, 2-0) Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The Mustangs claimed their league opener last Thursday over Cameron, but didn't fare as well against NAIA nationally ranked Lubbock Christian, which improved to 10-3.
LCU senior outside hitter Kelsey Odell tormented the Mustangs with 13 kills while committing just one error in 23 attacks for a .522 kill rate, while junior middle blocker Elissa Loynes added 11 kills on 19 attack with two errors for a .474 hitting percentage.
Sophomore setter Jordan Goings finished with 39 assists as the Chaps committed just eight errors.
Midwestern State was led by senior middle blocker
Sesley Graves who put down eight kills, hit .333 and was in on three of the Mustangs' four blocks.
MSU was forced into 20 attack errors while making 23 kills as junior middle blocker
Lauren Bayer was the only other attacker for the Mustangs to finish with a positive hitting percentage with four kills and three errors in 11 attacks (.091).

Kiara Jordan had 15 digs to lead Midwestern's back row efforts, while sophomore setter
Dimery Michaels added seven digs.
