PHOENIX - No. 2 Brigham Young-Hawaii swept past No. 31 Midwestern State 9-0 Friday afternoon in the Grand Canyon President's Day Duels at the Paseo Racquet Club.
The Mustangs managed to take just one point from the Seasiders in doubles play as Elwen Li/Yuan Jia defeated

Faye D'Hamecourt 8-0 at No. 1, Jenny Chin/Wen-Ling Wang beat
Alex Odell-Michels/
Collean Kinser 8-0 at No. 2 and Shawni Porter/Ayako Ikeda upended

Holly Gunderson 8-1 at No. 3.
Odell-Michels gave BYU-Hawaii its stiffest test of the match, but retired in the second set giving Li a 6-3, 0-1 win.
Midwestern State would claim a total of eight points in the remaining singles matches - all straight-set wins for the Seasiders.
Jia beat Banas 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, Chin defeated Blair 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, Wang took a 6-2, 6-0 decision over D'Hamecourt at No. 4, Ikeda beat Kinser 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 and Porter rolled past Gunderson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
BYU-Hawaii improved to 4-0 on the season while the Mustangs slipped to 3-2.
