PHOENIX - No. 32 Midwestern State rolled to a 9-0 win over Colorado State-Pueblo Thursday afternoon in the Grand Canyon D-2 President's Day Duals at the Paseo Racquet Club.
The Mustangs swept doubles then dusted the Thunderwolves with six straight-set singles wins.
Alex Odell-Michels beat Julie Wainright 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1,
Kaja Banas defeated Morgan Forsyth 7-6, 6-1 at No. 2,
Tonya Blair edged Ortiz 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3,
Faye D'Hamecourt blasted Tiffany Talmadge 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4,
Collean Kinser breezed past Valerie Boughton 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 and
Holly Gunderson dusted Meagan Clark 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
In doubles, Odell-Michels/Banas teamed up to defeat Wainright/Forsyth 8-1 at No. 1 while Blair/D'Hamecourt edged Ortiz/Talmadge 8-6 at No. 2 and Kinser/
Jennifer Wooland rolled to an 8-2 win over Boughton/Cindy Boughton 8-2 at No. 3.
Midwestern evened its record at 1-1 while Colorado State-Pueblo slipped to 0-4.
