WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Nolisha Markham poured in a game-high 19 points and pulled in six rebounds to lead Midwestern State to a 59-46 win over Cameron in a Lone Star Conference play Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The win snapped a three-game skid for the Mustangs, who improved ot 3-6 on the season.
Midwestern returns to the dome Monday night when the Mustangs play host to Southwestern Oklahoma State. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
Senior forward
Andrea Buben jump started a 12-0 MSU run last in the first half with a jumper from the right wing to pull the Mustangs within 16-15 with 9:45 remaining.
The Mustangs held the Aggies (3-7) without a field goal for an eight-minute stretch and pushed the lead to 25-16 when
Cierra Thompson hit a short jumper with 4:46 to go.
MSU led 27-18 at the half and would lead by as many as 21 after Markham hit a pair of free throws with 2:32 to play.
Buben recorded her second-straight game in double figures as the Duncan native scored 11 points points and pulled in six rebounds.
Junior guard
Breeanna Brown set season highs with eight points and eight rebounds, while
Aqueelah Watkins scored nine points and snarled six rebounds in 19 minutes off of the bench.
Josie Stewart paced Cameron with 13 points and eight rebounds before fouling out in 34 minutes. She was the lone Aggie in double figures.
