EDMOND, Okla. - Central Oklahoma's Kristen Wilson and Morgan Roy combined for 33 kills to lead the Bronchos to a 25-15, 25-17, 19-25, 25-14 Lone Star Conference win over Midwestern State in its regular season finale Saturday night at Hamilton Fieldhouse.
The Mustangs, who fell to 10-24 on the season and to 6-7 in the LSC, will battle West Texas A&M in the opening round of the LSC Volleyball Championships Thursday night in Canyon. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m.
MSU qualified for its third-straight conference postseason tournament as the No. 8 seed.
Central Oklahoma, which opens LSC tournament as the No. 5 seed against Texas A&M-Commerce, hit .256 as a team and made just 19 errors with Wilson and Roy notching 19 and 14 kills, respectively.
Sophomore outside hitter
Miranda Byrd paced the Mustangs attack with 11 kills and added 15 digs and four total blocks, while senior middle blocker
Sesley Graves and junior right-side hitter Kari Damjanovic finished with six kills each.
Junior middle blocker
Lauren Bayer led MSU at the net by getting on six of the Mustangs nine total blocks.
Sophomore libero
Kiara Jordan led the Mustangs' back row efforts with 21 digs.
Central Oklahoma improved to 16-15 on the season and to 7-6 in conference play.
