PORTALES, N.M. - No. 11 Midwestern State matched its longest winning streak of the season, taking a 2-0 win over Eastern New Mexico Friday afternoon at the ENMU Soccer Field.
The Mustangs (11-1-2) have won five-straight since fighting Texas A&M International to a scoreless draw on Sep. 25 at the MSU Soccer Field after winning five in a row from Aug. 30 through Sep. 13 before taking another 0-0 draw against No. 19 West Texas A&M.
The win sets up a fight for the NCAA Division II South Central Region lead and a Lone Star Conference championship Sunday afternoon as MSU takes on the sixth-ranked Buffs for the second time this season at The Pitch in Canyon. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.

Craig Sutherland sent a through ball to
Paulo Teixeira to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute and
Dean Lovegrove one-touched Teixeira's cross from the left wing in the 48th minute to put the match away for Midwestern.
Junior
Raul Herrera faced just four shots and didn't have to make a save while notching his 10th shutout of the season to set the single-season standard for shutouts by an MSU keeper since the Mustangs became an NCAA Division II member in 1995.
Midwestern outshot the Greyhounds 33-4 and placed 10 shots on goal.
Eastern New Mexico fell to 10-4-2 on the season and to 1-3 in the LSC.
