WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Natalie Johnson and Melissa Harper combined for 22 kills to lift No. 6 West Texas A&M to a 3-0 win over Midwestern State in Lone Star Conference play Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The Mustangs dropped to 9-18 on the season and 5-2 in conference play, while WT improved to 22-3 and 8-0 after claiming its 58th-straight win against an LSC opponent.
MSU fought back from a 14-8 deficit in the opening set to claim a 22-21 edge after forcing the Lady Buffs into consecutive attack errors, but West Texas responded after a timeout to close the set by taking four of the final points to claim a 25-19 win.
The Mustangs enjoyed a stellar team attack in the second set by making just two errors and putting down 12 kills for a .312 attack percentage, but the Lady Buffs racked up 19 kills of their own to hold on for a 25-19 victory before closing out the match with a dominating 25-11 showing in the third and final set.

Hillary White paced the Mustangs attack with six kills, while adding 12 digs and two blocks.
Freshman outside hitter
Shelbi Stewart added six kills of her own, while middle blockers
Sesley Graves and
Lauren Bayer joined outside hitter
Miranda Byrd with five kills each.
Bayer paced MSU at the net with three blocks, while sophomore libero
Kiara Jordan led back row efforts with 14 digs.
Midwestern State heads out of town for a non-conference contest at Dallas Baptist on Tuesday, then remains on road for a pair of LSC matches next weekend at Abilene Christian and Angelo State.
