WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Nolan Richardson and
Craig Green combined for 43 points as Midwestern State made light work of Eastern New Mexico 83-44 in Lone Star Conference South Division play Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The Mustangs improved to 14-5 on the season and 3-1 in the LSC South, while Eastern New Mexico dropped to 4-14 and 0-3.
The game was never in doubt as the Mustangs shot 60.8 percent from the field and led by as many as 22 points in the first half before building an insurmountable 39-point lead in the second half.
Richardson connected on 6-of-13 shots including a pair of 3-pointers and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line for a game-high 22 points, while Green missed just one shot in 10 attempts including three treys and finished with 21 points.
Senior forward
Trajinski Grigsby canned three more 3-pointers and finished with 15 points and six rebounds.
The Mustangs limited the offensively challenged Greyhounds to 37.2 percent shooting from the field as ENMU was unable to connect on any of its six 3-point tries.
Aaron King paced Eastern with 11 points, while Dannon Wafer added eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Midwestern State continues its homestand next Saturday when it plays host to Abilene Christian at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. or 25 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game which begins at 6.
