WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Truman State's Katie Reuck flicked in a loose ball in the box off of a corner kick to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 win over Midwestern State Sunday afternoon the University of Central Missouri's South Recreation Complex.
"I felt we played better than we did Friday and really came out with good energy," MSU coach Jeff Trimble said.
The Mustangs created chanced throughout the match as it placed seven of its 10 shots on goal, but Truman goalkeeper Denise Childress was there save each of them.
"We had some great opportunities to score, but couldn't finish," Trimble said. "Then in the second half, we came out flat at they took advantage. You have to play 90 minutes."
Midwestern State fell to 0-2 after suffering losses each of the defending Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association co-champions as it dropped a decision to host Central Missouri on Friday.
The Mustangs make their home debut Friday night against NAIA Northwestern Oklahoma State at the MSU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
