SALISBURY, N.C. – Midwestern State continued to receive stellar play from the outside as the Mustangs improved to a perfect 3-0 at the Catawba College Invitational with a 25-15, 25-10, 25-12 win over Fayetteville State Saturday morning at Goodman Gym.

Freshmen outside hitters
Miranda Byrd and
Tiana Bond paced the Mustangs with six kills each, while senior
Jessica Ransom and
Karolina Damjanovic added four apiece.
The quartet committed only one hitting error in 28 total attacks to combined for a .679 attack percentage.
Senior setter
Allison Schreiber had 31 assists as the team finished with a total of 43 kills in 89 attacks and made 15 errors for a .315 kill percentage.
Senior libero
Shay Velasquez led the back row with 12 digs to go with a service ace.
Midwestern State closes the invitational this afternoon against Lenoir-Rhyne.
Fayetteville State dropped to 2-1.
