ADA, Okla. – No. 21 East Central sent No. 32 Midwestern State to its second-straight defeat by a 6-3 margin Wednesday afternoon at the ECU Tennis Courts.
The Mustangs, who fell to 7-3, were unable to overcome a 2-1 doubles' deficit as
Ashley Huse and
Collean Kinser gave MSU an 8-4 win over ECU's Angelita Detudamo and Erin Miller at No. 3.
Junior
Faye D'Hamecourt rallied for a three-set win at No. 4 over Detudamo. D'Hamecourt fell in the first set 3-6 before rallying for a pair of 6-2 wins to take the match.
Sophomore
Desre Tarr gave MSU its only other singles' victory at No. 6 as she beat Kendra Coltrain 6-0, 6-1.
The Mustangs are off for two weeks before hosting Southeastern Oklahoma State on March 27.
