SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Jessica Rodriguez drove in a career-best five runs to help Brittany Tanner claim a win in her collegiate debut Friday afternoon at the St. Mary's Classic.
Tanner allowed two unearned runs on three hits as No. 17 Midwestern State evened their record at 1-1 with a 10-2 run-rule win in six innings over Texas A&M International at the San Antonio ISD Triplex.
Rodriguez went 3-for-3 and drove in run in each of her four plate appearances.
The junior first baseman from Houston had a sacrifice fly in the first inning before lacing RBI-singles in the second and fourth innings. She capped her day with a two-run double to left field in the sixth inning.

Kristen Stonecipher scored two runs and drove in two others while going 2-for-2 at the plate with a pair of doubles.
The Mustangs continue play in the St. Mary's Saturday when it plays Lone Star Conference South foes Tarleton State at 9 a.m. and Eastern New Mexico at 1:30 p.m.
