SAN ANGELO, Texas – The ball just didn't bounce Midwestern State's way Friday afternoon in its Lone Star Conference opener at the Angelo State Soccer Field.
Kristen Boister's cross was blown into the post and the ball found its way into goal to give Angelo State a 1-0 win.
"It really bounced up, hit the cross bar and went in," MSU coach
Jeff Trimble said. "It was unlucky for us and I can't believe it went in."
The dominated play in the second half by outshooting the Rambelles 8-3, but couldn't find the equalizer.
"We kept creating shots and opportunities, but hey played a good, solid team defense against us," Trimble said. "It's just frustrating. This is a really good soccer team we have and just gets frustrating to not score."
The Mustangs, who fell to 5-4 overall and 0-1 in the LSC, take on Abilene Christian Sunday afternoon at the ACU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
