Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Midwestern blasts Dustdevils 7-0

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State was happy to return home after an eight game road trip and it definitely showed.

Megan Bibilone scored.

Kari Bristow scored.

Brittany Subia scored.

Heidi Avila scored.

And that was just in the first 45 minutes.

Subia added another goal in the second half and Kelsey Hill joined the hit parade with two scores of her own as the Mustangs rolled to their third-straight win claiming a 7-0 result over Texas A&M International Tuesday afternoon at the MSU Soccer Field.

"It was really good to be home," said Coach Jeff Trimble. "There was a good atmosphere out here today."

Kendra Clemons played the setup role by tying a school record with three assists.

MSU used its speed and quickness and decided size advantage to take advantage of its home pitch for the first time since beating Southern Nazarene 4-2 on Sep. 16- a span of eight games and 35 days.

Subia was the beneficiary of two of Clemons' assists to notch her first collegiate multiple-goal game, while adding an assist.

"I'm very happy with the way Subia played," said Trimble said. "She made some good decisions and helped to give the team some good looks."

Hill, a true freshman from Wichita Falls Rider High School, added to her team leading goal tally with her 11th and 12th goals of the season.

The Mustangs launched 56 shots placing 25 on goal, which ranks as the second most this season and is tied for the third most in school history.

The team had a LSC record 65 shots in a 13-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma on Sep. 5.

The MSU defense limited the Dustdevils to three shots with none falling on frame as Heather Primavera, Ashley Meek and Cathy Carr combined for the Mustangs' fifth shutout of the season.

MSU returns to action on Friday when they play host to West Texas A&M. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

Notes

Kendra Clemons was the first player since Brittany Burney to record three assists in a match. Burney performed the feat against Northeastern State on Nov. 19, 2005.

Chrissy Troia accomplished the deed on two occasions. First against Texas-Permian Basin on Oct. 3, 2001 and two weeks later against Dallas Baptist.

Amy Cockrill was the first to record three assists in a match against Texas-Dallas on Oct. 10, 1995.
