WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Midwestern State received a big-time defensive performance by
Shay Velasquez to go with an up-tempo attack to blister Southwestern Oklahoma State 30-17, 30-21, 30-17 Saturday afternoon at Southwestern Oklahoma State University Wellness Center.

"I'm glad we could recover from the way we played on Thursday," MSU coach
Venera Flores-Stafford said. "We learned a lot from that loss and I think it will help us as we go through the season."
Junior
Whitney Maxwell and sophomore
Alysha Pritt paced a pack of three Mustangs with double-figure kills with 11 each, while senior
Krissa Johnson added 10.
Midwestern limited the Bulldogs (7-10, 0-2) to a .129 hitting percentage, while recording a .378 of its own.
Junior setter
