PENSACOLA, Fla. - Midwestern State received monster performance from
Krissa Johnson and
Whitney Maxwell Saturday morning at the Comfort Inn-vitational.
But Southern Indiana was able to hold off the Mustangs in five games by scorers of 26-30, 30-25, 23-30, 30-25 and 15-12.
Johnson, a senior from Denver City, led Midwestern with 23 kills while logging a .333 attack percentage.
Maxwell continued her stellar early season play by making 17 kills without an error for an exceptional .548 kill rate.
Senior
Shay Velasquez had 23 digs, while
Allison Schreiber finished with 59 set assists, six kills and five digs.
