LAWTON, Okla. – The No. 31-ranked Midwestern State University women upset the No. 15-ranked Cameron University women 5-4, while the 16th-ranked Cameron men stopped the No. 23-ranked Mustangs men 6-3 in Lone Star Conference tennis matches Monday afternoon.

The MSU women took two of three doubles matches, while claiming three of the six singles matches for their win.

The Midwestern State men surprisingly dropped all three doubles matches before winning just two of the six singles events.

The MSU women were paced by Faye d'Hamecourt who teamed with Michelle Watson at number three doubles for an 8-3 win over CU's Sandra Leigh King and Carolina Mullor before winning at number three singles against Megan deBlonk 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.

Brynne Chappell and Collean Kinser claimed the number two doubles, while Cilia Muller and Melissa dos Prazeres-Silva were singles winners.

MSU's 11th ranked doubles team of Brett Emerson and Zac Dillard, playing together for the first time in three weeks, were stunned by the 25th ranked Cameron team of Jordi Mullor and Tin Hinst 8-6 at number one as the Aggies swept the doubles play.

Only Emerson, ranked 18th nationally in singles, and Charles van Swelm collected singles victories for the MSU men.  Emerson defeated Mullor 4-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-0 to win number one singles, while van Swelm took Augustin Criado 6-3, 6-4.

The MSU men are in action again Wednesday at Oklahoma Christian, while the MSU women return to the court Friday at the Northeastern State quadrangular.
