WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State's
Brittni Morrison poured in a game-high 25 points to lead the Mustangs to a 76-61 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State Thursday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
"She's been shooting the ball really well," MSU coach Shannon Burks said. "It certainly makes things a lot better when you hit 9-of-15 3's."
The win improves the Mustangs to 1-3 on the season, while Southwestern Oklahoma State dropped to 3-2.
Burks, a senior from Archer City, hit all but one of her 10 shots from the field, including a 5-of-6 performance from the arc.
Junior forward
Rosy Ofoegbu scored a season-high 21 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, while connecting on nine of her 11 free throws.
"She had a huge night and has been playing really well," Burks said.
Junior guard
Brandy Moore returned from injury and scored 18 points in 21 minutes off of the bench.
Southwestern Oklahoma State was paced by Grace Anne Fath's 17-point performance, while Lucy Ramon added 12.
The Mustangs play host to Cameron Saturday night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
