No. 12 Mustangs fall to No. 10 West Texas A&M, 25-20

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – West Texas A&M quarterback Keith Null connected with B.J. Vickers for a 55-yard touchdown to allow the No. 10 Buffs to hang on for a 25-20 win Friday night over No. 12 Midwestern State at Memorial Stadium.

The Null-to-Vickers strike gave the Buffs a two-score lead as the Mustangs clawed back on the strength of a 3-yard Steven Harper run to close to within five, but MSU was unable to recover an outside kick allowing West Texas A&M to run out the clock.

West Texas A&M sophomore running back Keithon Flemming led the Buffs with 107 rushing and added 50 yards on eight receptions, while quarterback Keith Null passed for 297 yards on 27-of-45 passing with three touchdowns and four interceptions.

Midwestern State quarterback Daniel Polk was sacked three times and rushed on six more occasions as the senior was limited to 213 yards on 20-of-38 passing and was held to 30 yards on 17 carries.

West Texas A&M improved to 6-0 on the season, while Midwestern State dropped to 5-1.
