SAN ANTONIO - Incarnate Word's Dustin Lemley scored on a header off of a corner kick opportunity to give the Cardinals a 1-0 victory over No. 2 Midwestern State Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Field.
The loss snapped a 10-match winning streak for the Mustangs, who fell to 12-2 on the season, while Incarnate Word remained in the postseason hunt with a 7-4-1 mark.
The Cardinals are responsible for both of MSU's losses as they claimed 1-0 win on Sep. 7 at the MSU Soccer Field.
"They played hard and it was a must-win game for them," MSU coach
Doug Elder said. "They packed it in defensively after scoring, but we just need to keep playing hard."
The Mustangs return to the MSU Soccer Field next Sunday when they play host to St. Mary's at 1 p.m.
