MSU Women win twice on Friday

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Midwestern State University women's tennis team picked up a pair of wins on Friday in the first day of the MSU Quadrangular tournament at the MSU Courts.

Midwestern (11-2) defeated Eastern New Mexico 7-2 in the morning, then came back to down Southeastern Oklahoma State 7-2 in the afternoon.  Both matches count as Lone Star Conference contests.

MSU was bolstered on the day by the play of Brenna Jackson, who dropped only three games in singles play between the two matches.  Jackson beat Erica Kelly of Eastern 6-1, 6-1, then dumped Lisa Donahue of SOSU 6-0, 6-1.  Jackson also teamed with Michelle Beukes to win both doubles matches on the day.

Also sweeping both singles matches and doubles matches for MSU on the day were Beukes, Cilia Muller, and Camilia Miranda.

MSU faces Northeastern State Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in the tournament.  NSU defeated ENMU in the other match played Friday.

Also on Saturday, Southeastern meets ENMU at 9 a.m., then NSU and SOSU will play at 1 p.m.  All of the action is at the MSU Courts.
