KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Midwestern State University Mustangs made it fight all the way, but fell in their final game at the Lone Star Conference Crossover volleyball tournament as the Tarleton State University TexAnns claimed a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon.
Tarleton won the match 38-36, 30-32, 33-31, 30-22.
The loss dropped MSU to 11-11 on the season, as they fell in all three games at the crossover tournament.
Tarleton State advanced to 9-10 on the year.
Midwestern's
Lacey Lanier chalked up 17 kills and four service aces for the match, while
Jessica Ransom tallied 13 kills and hit an outstanding .423 for the match.
Krissa Johnson collected 15 kills and seven blocks, while
Sesley Graves had 12 kills and four blocks.
Allison Schreiber accounted for 61 assists in the loss.
Tarleton was paced by Julie Hamilton with 24 kills, a .444 hitting percentage and six blocks, while Alesha Bourgo added 21 kills.
Midwestern State returns to Lone Star Conference North Division play on Thursday when Cameron visits D.L. Ligon Coliseum/Gerald Stockton Court.
