ABILENE, Texas – The Midwestern State University volleyball team split matches in the Lone Star Conference crossover tournament on Saturday, beating Texas A&M-Kingsville 3-0 and falling to host Abilene Christian 3-0.
MSU moved its record to 10-4 overall following the tournament.
In the early match, the Lady Indians downed A&M-Kingsville 30-19, 30-26, 30-25.
Candice Main led MSU with 13 kills and a .370 hitting percentage, while
Kate Pence collected 10 kills and 14 digs.
In the evening match ACU did the trick on MSU 30-24, 30-25, 30-23. Main hit .474 for the match with 11 kills to lead MSU.
Shay Velasquez added nine kills in the contest.
Setter
Allison Schreiber recorded 72 assists in the six games played, averaging 12.0 assists a game.
MSU is in action twice on Monday as they visit Waxahachie to meet Paul Quinn College and Southwestern Assemblies of God in a pair of matches.
