Kyle Williams was permanently appointed as Midwestern State's 10th athletic director effective Nov. 8, 2017.
He is responsible for administering all aspects of the athletic department including fund raising, promotion, marketing and compliance with the rules and regulations of both the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Lone Star Conference.
Williams served as Interim Director of Athletics for a 10-month period beginning Jan. 1, 2017.
He worked the past 10 years first as Director of Corporate and Sports Development and later as Associate Athletic Director for Development.

"I am very grateful to Dr. Shipley for the confidence and support she has shown in me. I look forward to working with our MSU coaches, the MSU faculty and staff and certainly our 330 student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom."

Prior to joining MSU, Williams was a prominent member of the Wichita Falls broadcast television market first with FOX-18 before serving as general manager at KAUZ TV-6. He also worked in commercial lending with First National Bank of Wichita Falls between TV stints.

Williams has been a member of the Wichita Falls community since he was signed by the legendary Dr. Gerald Stockton to play his final two collegiate seasons from 1978-80.
