Tim Alaniz begins his fourth season as the second assistant coach with the Midwestern State volleyball program in 2017.
Prior to his return to Texoma, Alaniz spent two seasons as an assistant coach under Natalie Burton at Newman University in Wichita, Kan. Alaniz saw the Jets post a 15-12 record in 2013 before matching that win total and advancing to their first Heartland Conference postseason appearance since 2010 with a with 9-7 league mark and 15-14 overall record in 2014.
Alaniz served as an assistant coach at Christ Academy in Wichita Falls in 2012 after three seasons as a junior high coach at Notre Dame Catholic School. He also coached club volleyball from 2008-11 with TVC, serving as a head coach for various teams from 2009-11.
Personal
A native of Vernon, Alaniz graduated from Midwestern State in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in radiology.Â
