Stephanie Radecki was hired as the 10th head coach in Midwestern State volleyball history on April 14, 2022.

Radecki took over a program that won four matches in 2021 and finished with a 7-22 record in her first season at Midwestern State. After winning just two conference matches the previous year, the Mustangs were 5-11 against Lone Star Conference opponents and finished with a 5-4 record at home in Radecki’s inaugural campaign. Aaliyah Burras, who transferred from Nicholls State, led MSU and was seventh in the conference with a .311 hitting percentage. Burras also led the team with 2.53 kills per set. Freshman Sadie Portmann led the team with 863 attacks and finished with 2.49 kills per set.

Radecki possesses a proven track record which includes a 14-year run at the University of North Alabama where she led the Lions to 326 wins including a national runner-up finish in 2006 while also leading UNA to nine appearances in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Radecki guided North Alabama to at least 20 wins in 12 of her 14 seasons in Florence including a 36-win season in 2005 and followed up with 35 wins in 2006 when the Lions advanced to the NCAA Division II national final.

During her tenure with UNA, the Lions also won five Gulf South Conference (GSC) championships, and one NCAA South Central Region title.

Radecki was a two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) regional Coach of the Year, a three-time Gulf South Conference East Division Coach of the Year, and overall GSC Coach of the Year once. She has also coached players who won all-conference honors 41 times with 28 all-region selections and 10 All Americans.

She started her collegiate head coaching career at Saint Leo (Fla.) University in 2003, then spent the last four years leading the volleyball program at Southern Miss.

Playing Career

A 1998 graduate of Edinboro University, Radecki was a four-year letter winner and team captain as an outside hitter on the school's volleyball team. She was chosen as Female Athlete of the Year at Edinboro once, was Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior and was tabbed All-PSAC and All-Atlantic Region twice.

Edinboro made two Elite Eight appearances during her collegiate playing career, including two Atlantic Region crowns and one conference championship.

Radecki gained induction into the Edinboro Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008.
