John Burke begins his second year as a graduate assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Midwestern State in 2021-22.
He handles the primary coaching responsibilities for men's soccer and women's basketball, but will assist in all other strength and conditioning aspects in each of MSU's athletic programs.
Burke, who is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), competed as a collegiate football student-athlete at Mississippi College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2019.
He served an internship at Tulane University throughout the 2019-20 academic year assisting with workouts for men's and women's basketball, football and beach volleyball for the Green Wave.
Burke designed and implemented workouts for men's tennis as an intern at Mississippi College from 2017-19 while also aiding with football, women's soccer, baseball, track & field and men's basketball.
Burke also participated in summer internships in his hometown of New Orleans with Derrick Joseph Fitness and at Jesuit High School.
He is a commissioned officer in the United States Army National Guard after participating in the Army ROTC program at Mississippi College.
Burke is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Exercise Physiology program at MSU.
