Jillian Samuels

Jillian Samuels enters her second campaign on the Midwestern State women's coaching staff.
 
She makes the move to assistant coach in 2011-12 after serving as a graduate assistant last season.
 
Samuels enjoyed a stellar collegiate career at SMU where she played a key role in helping the Mustangs to a Conference USA championship as a sophomore in 2008 which also included an NCAA appearance. SMU returned to the postseason in each of her next two seasons while making WNIT runs.
 
The point guard from Mesquite became SMU's all-time leader with 244 3-point makes which also rates fourth on the CUSA's career list as her class set a Mustangs' high mark of 82 wins which included three 20-win campaigns during her four-year collegiate career.
 
Samuels showed her big game flare by knocking down three treys in the opening round of the 2008 NCAA tournament against Notre Dame.
 
Samuels, who earned Bachelor of English degree from SMU in 2010, is slated to earn her Master's of Sports Administration from Midwestern State in 2012.
