• four-year starter for coach John Gall at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas where he served as team captain as a junior and senior.
• earned first-team all-district honors in each of his four seasons.
• led Marauders to a perfect 30-0 season as a senior in 2007 as MHS claimed a Texas Class 5A State Championship and a No. 1 national ranking.
