Three-time All American Ryan Spence makes his return to Midwestern State as a graduate assistant coach in 2014.
Spence played a key role in leading the Mustangs to four consecutive NCAA Division II postseason appearances from 2008-11 including a pair of national quarterfinal showings in 2008 and 2010 and a trip to the Final Four in 2010.
The Decatur native earned Daktronics All-America honors as a center back in 2009, 2010 and 2011 while garnering the same distinction from the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America in 2010 and 2011.
The two-time LSC Defender of the Year (2010, 2011) appeared in 71 matches making 58 starts primarily at center back for the Mustangs.
Spence played a key role in helping the Mustangs achieve 46 clean sheets during his career.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Midwestern State in 2012 and is current working toward a master's degree.
