two-year starter at rover for coach Max Kattwinkel at Cooper High School in Lubbock, Texas... earned first-team All-District 4-5A honors as an outside linebacker making 89 tackles including 24 solo stops with eight tackles for loss while recovering three fumbles and breaking up four passes as a senior in 2016... led Lubbock-Cooper High to a 9-3 record and a Region I-5A-II Area title as a senior in 2016... became first player to earn team heavy hitter award twice in one season... member of Pirates District 4-5A title team in 2015 which claimed a bi-district championship... also competed as a first baseman on the baseball diamond...
