  • a three-year starter at quarterback and linebacker for coach Brandon Brown at Jacksboro (Texas) High School.
  • excelled on offense and defense for the Tigers as he was named to the Times Record News Red River 22 as a linebacker, but was the District 9-2A Offensive MVP.
  • passed for 1,330 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 836 yards and six more TDs during senior campaign of 2009.
  • also led JHS with 212 in 2009.
  • 2010 Texas Class 2A State Champion in the shot put as three-year track & field letter winner graduated with school records in the shot put and discus.
  • two-year starter as a center fielder in baseball and won three basketball letters.
