a four-year starter at middle linebacker and tight end for coach Brandon Hopkins at Boyd (Texas) High School... two-time Texas Sportswriters' Association (TSWA) Class 3A honorable mention all-state honors in 2019 and 2020... also earned Associated Press Sports Editor's (APSE) all-state honorable mention as a junior in 2019... helped Yellowjackets to UIL Texas state playoff appearances in each of his four prep campaigns... closed career with 506 tackles, 32 stops for loss and 12 quarterback sacks on defense and had 1,069 yards on 86 catches with 12 touchdowns from his tight end spot... earned All-District 4-3A Division II first-team honors at linebacker and tight end as a senior in 2020... made 129 tackles with 11 tackles for loss and five sacks as a senior, while making 24 receptions for 315 yards and three touchdowns... tabbed District 4-3A Division II Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2019 piling up 134 tackles with 10 stops for loss and three sacks.... also grabbed 14 catches for 144 yards and three touchdowns as a junior... earned All-District 4-3A Division I first-team linebacker honors as a sophomore in 2018 making 119 tackles with two quarterback sacks... also garnered second-team all-district honors at tight end as a sophomore making 35 receptions for 467 yards with six touchdowns... broke out as a freshman making 124 tackles with eight tackles for loss from his middle linebacker position in 2017... also stood out in football, power lifting and track & field at BHS...
