At Pilot Point High School
three-year letter winner as an offensive and defensive lineman for head coach Danny David… Bearcats rushed for 3,692 yards over 14 games behind the offensive line in his senior season…Bearcat quarterbacks threw for 2,012 yards and completed 57.5 percent of their passes… Haynes made 10 tackles, including four solo stops, in his senior year… Haynes was 7-2 as a baseball pitcher for the Bearcats with a 1.73 ERA in 17 appearances over three seasons… recorded 106 strikeouts in 72 2/3 innings, allowing just 55 hits and walking 32… opponents hit .193 against him… he hit .235 with two doubles and 13 RBIs in 123 plate appearances… also played basketball and golf for the Bearcats
