Mekhi Ware was a starting cornerback during his collegiate career at Indiana State from 2017-2021. Ware made six solo tackles and eight total tackles against Southern Illinois in his senior season. He also broke up two passes in that game for the Sycamores. In 2019, Ware broke up 11 passes and finished among the top-10 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference in pass deflections.Â
Ware served as a Defensive Player Assistant at Indiana State in the spring of 2022. He organized the recruiting data base, evaluated some of the recruits and communicated with players and coaches on the field to help players reach their highest potential.
In the fall of 2022, Ware took over as the varsity defensive back coach at Culver City High School in Culver City, California. Ware helped in the development of game plans and adjusting those plans based on in-game situations. He also helped players improve their technique and confidence with specific drill work. Ware assisted in weight training workouts, helping players develop strength and mobility. He developed a strong rapport with players, coaches and parents in pursuit of team goals.
