Garrett Graf begins his third season as an assistant coach at Midwestern State in the 2022 season. He mentors offensive linemen and serves as the run game coordinator.
He served the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant offensive line coach at his alma mater -- the University of Texas.
With the Longhorns, he acted as lead recruiter for on-campus visits, organized and taught offseason position meetings for offensive linemen, mentored graduate transfers and held responsibility for his unit's academic progress as well as newcomer's integration into college courses at UT.
Graf shadowed veteran offensive line coach Herb Hand in practice assisting in drill work to improve technique, while also coordinating and organizing the defensive scout team.
Playing Career
Graf competed three seasons at the University of Texas as a walk-on offensive lineman before earning a scholarship prior to his senior season of 2017.
He competed in three games for the Longhorns as a senior making appearances in a 56-0 win against San Jose State and also played victories over Baylor and Kansas. Graf made his collegiate debut as a junior in a 41-7 win over UTEP in 2016.
He earned Academic All-Big XII in 2017, was a four-time member Big XII Commissioner's Honor Roll and was twice named to the Texas Athletic Director Honor Roll.
Personal
Graf was a three-year starter and two-time all-district offensive tackle at South Grand Prairie High. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Texas in 2017 and a Master of Education in Sports Management from UT in 2019.
