Charles Alexander begins his first season as an assistant coach at Midwestern State in 2022 charged with mentoring the defensive line.
The native of Little Rock, Arkansas is in his eighth season of coaching at the collegiate ranks.
He played a key role in helping Bemidji State to the second round of the 2021 NCAA Division II playoffs coaching defensive ends. The Beavers ranked 31st nationally and third in the conference in sacks and 40th nationally and first in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in tackles for a loss. Leading the way was edge rusher Zollie Kaplan who was named an All-NSIC first-team selection.
Alexander served as the defensive line coach and travel coordinator at NAIA Jamestown (N.D.) from 2017-20 and was a volunteer assistant coach (defensive line) during the 2016 season. He coached three All-Great Plains Athletic Conference team members on the defensive line.
Playing Career
Alexander played college football at Arkansas, where he was a member of the 2006 SEC West championship team that went to the SEC Championship game and earned a trip to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
Alexander was a three-year letterman at Little Rock Central High School and helped his team win back-to-back state championships. He also earned an All-Metro selection as well as an All-Arkansas team selection.
Personal
Alexander earned a bachelor of arts in both criminal justice and political science from Minnesota State-Moorhead in 2017.
