Ben McMahan is in his second season as a graduate assistant running backs coach at Midwestern State.

The Austin, Texas native who spent three season as a reserve quarterback at MSU (2007-09) for the Mustangs presided over a Midwestern running back stable that rushed for more than 212 yards per game to rank 15th in NCAA Division II in 2010.

McMahan mentored LSC South Division first teamer Lester Bush, who ranked sixth in the LSC and 82nd nationally averating 66.4 yards per game in his first season as a GA.

McMahan transferred to MSU from Trinity Valley CC where he helped the Cardinals to a Southwest Junior College Conference title and a trip to the 2005 Pilgrims Pride Bowl as a freshman in 2005.

McMahan earned his bachelor's degree from Midwestern State in 2010.
